United Bulawayo Hospitals School of Nursing is passionate about developing and training local nurses having trained the first group in 1925.

Registered General Nurse Training
United Bulawayo Hospitals School of Nursing offers a three year basic nursing training program.
There are three intakes per year, January, May and September.

Applicants should have attained the age of 17 years.
5 O levels including English language and a Science subject at no more than 2 sittings. No practical subjects
A medical certificate of fitness from a medical practitioner.

    In addition to that, the department offers specialist training to post graduate students seconded from other institutions e.g. ICU (Intensive Care Unit), surgery, ophthalmic nursing experience.

    There are 24 matron together with other nursing staff

Night duty
The night duty Superintendent is in charge of the hospital at night, ensuring continuous provision of quality care.

The School of nursing also participate in some social activities like Career guidance and donates to geriatric nursing homes.
The School of Nursing aims to intensify accessibility of ASRH services to cater for students and society through participation in establishing a youth friendly corner at the institution.
Supervision of and monitoring of students.
Students are deployed to local clinics and District Hospital as part of their practical training.
